Hello and welcome to my final newsletter of 2015.
Yesterday saw the Slade December meeting and as usual there was never a dull moment. The conditions were good, the course is holding up well despite all of the wet weather and the scoring was generally good.
I was on the school run so had to go off early which meant playing middle man. I had the pleasure of partnering Keith Fletcher and Martin Ward. It made a change to play with Martin and not have to hand over money at the end as he cunningly uses his two shots on holes. We scored a modest 36 and 38 points respectively, absolute mid table obscurity.
Top of the pile were three teams tied on 42 points. The winning pair with a better back nine were Stephen Griffiths and Mike Price. Beers on them!
Propping up the other end and winning the PPPP were deserved and outright winners Simon Noakes and Trevor Rowlandson who managed just 28 points.

What started off as a breezy 7am morning at Thetford Golf Club, turned into a nice day at the Pro Am.
As winter golf goes the weather stayed warm for us as mince pies and coffee were served half way round to keep us going!
Starting with a birdie, par, double, bogey then parring all the holes 'til the last, finishing with a bogey I'm pretty happy with +4 finishing in the top 6.
As a pair with my Dad we finished -2 finishing top 3rd of the draw. The pro's winning score was 69, -3 under par!
Over the past few week's we have been busy putting together some fantastic coaching options ready to help you improve your golf moving into 2016.
Here is a couple of programmes that we will have available.
Junior Coaching - 6 Week Programme At Saffron Walden Golf Club
Saturday' s- 9, 10, 11 & 12noon
Sunday's - 10am
Week 1: 9th/10th January
Week 2: 16th/17th January
Week 3: 23rd/ 24th January
Week 4: 30th/31st January
Week 5: 6th/7th February
The first 5 weeks will involve learning, long game, short game, putting & skills based challenges.
Final Week: 13th/14th February- Final Competition!
The final week of this block will be held in the afternoon (tbc), parents are more than welcome to come & support for this week!
Only £40 for 6 Weeks!
£8 per session for roll up on the day

During the afternoon you will learn basic techniques for getting you started in learning golf. The afternoon covers long game, chipping & putting. It's a fun afternoon, meeting new people, discovering new skills and you will begin to learn how to play golf!
