SWGC scratch team reached top spot in the CAGU Div 1 scratch league after beating Girton 5-1 at the Windmill club last week.
Richard Southall and Cam Brown played blistering golf to beat Chris Cooke and Lee 9up.Whenever the Girton pairing made par, the Walden pairing made birdie and when they made a bogey the walden boys made par, to push through the convincing win. It is now 4 out of 4 wins for the boys who look irresistible.
Mark Reeve and Olly Tuck delivered another masterclass performance in beating Taite and Cowie 6 up.Full of banter they raced through 17 holes in 4 under par, only to bogey the last two for a 6up win.
In the third pair, Duggan and Goodfellow played some impressive golf against Giblett and Zac Cooke knocking in 5 birdies over the first 12 holes to be 3 up. But several errors off the tee and on the green then proved costly and the pair found themselves all square on 17. A regulation par down the last meant the game finished all square but, having looked comfortable for another win a few holes earlier, it felt like a point lost rather than gained for Walden.
