Hello and welcome to this weeks' newsletter.
Autumn is definitely upon us and the weather has changed a lot in the last week. It is hard to believe it's a year ago since I started, the time has flown by (Maybe not for the members!). I am pleased to say that the club has extended my contract and I relish the challenge of being your professional for 2015. This last year has been a learning curve in many respects, but I can say that for Aaron, Cam and myself we have thoroughly enjoyed it and are looking forward to the challenges and targets that we have set for next year.
As the weather has changed, so has the contents of the shop. The shirts and shorts have gone to be replaced by autumn/winter gear. This year for women we will continue to stock Rohnisch, Proquip and Glenmuir as well as Galvin Green and PING.
For men we have Oscar Jacobson, Glenmuir, Galvin Green and Under Armour. Many of the clothes coming in are technical pieces meaning that they are specifically designed for golf and freedom of movement of the swing, but at the same time keeping you warm.
Come and pay us a visit and see for yourself the great new 2014 ranges.
Last Sunday the Junior team played their final competitive match of the season in the "Friendly Cup" final at St.Neotts. For the second time this season their opponents were Ely, and for the second time this season they triumphed against them.
All players played well, Captain Charlie Duke and partner Oliver Leyshon were beaten one down, Jacob Gamble and Jonathan Jenkins are proving to be a formidable pairing as they won 5 and 4 which meant the result went down to the final game and the paring of Tim Leyshon and Louis Martin. After 18 holes the match was all square, on the first hole of the playoff Louis ripped a 3 wood down the middle and Tim struck the approach shot to within gimme distance to clinch the title a la Jamie Donaldson.
This caps a great year for the junior squad who have now achieved the county cup double as well as finishing runners up in the Division one on goal difference.
