Hello and welcome to this week's newsletter,
This week saw the final meeting of 2014 for the Slade and it was indeed a festive special. Carrying only meant a number of late withdrawals but 20 still managed to play.
I partnered Dave Batt and after 9 holes we had amassed 24 points, leaving a couple out there. Realising we might be front runners, we never really got going on the back 9 and came in with 42 points. Worried we may have won we were relieved to hear that Mike Price had peaked for the Slade meeting again and had found a willing partner in Nick Wombwell destroying the field with 45 points meaning Dave and I finished runners up.
More hotly contested at the other end of the scale was the Slade pot. A man becoming a regular in this department, Eric Fordham was this time joined by Terry Wilby on his first Slade playing meeting of the year. Together they amassed 32 points, which playing behind them looked like hard work, just enough to collect the final pot of the year.

We have recently recieved more of the Galvin Green 2015 clothing range here in the Pro Shop, and it has already gone down a storm. Their under layers in particular are really changing the way golfers play in the winter as it allows a far better range of movement causing a minimal effect on your swing despite being all layered up.
