New Staff Arrival
I'm pleased to announce that we have found a replacement for Cam and have a new Professional starting next week.
Her name is Sarah Smith and she is moving over from Kingsway Golf Centre.
Sarah has been playing golf since she was 2/3years old and joined Newmarket when she was just 6 years old. As an amateur Sarah played for Cambs & Hunts girls and ladies county teams and was the first girl junior from the team to play in the Ladies County Week too in 2007.
She turned Professional four years ago and has just completed her PGA studies and is ready for her next challenge. Sarah is having a good playing year and currently sits in the top 10 of the ladies order of merit.
Sarah has developed a good reputation in the area for her coaching having done work with the golf foundation and gained experiences working at Kingsway, Bourne and Top Golf at Chigwell as well as offering her services at ladies tour events and the upcoming British masters at Woburn.
I'm sure you will all welcome her to the club, I'm sure she's going to prove to be a great asset.
Junior hole in one.... again!
For the second time in month we had another junior hole in one on the 18th.
This time Ben Haynes fired a perfect fairway wood off the red tees straight at the hole. As soon as it was struck, one of the juniors commented that it was in! Ben has only been playing a year and recently joined the club after starting in the Saturday classes.
Well done Ben, drinks on your dad.
Junior County NewsWell done to
Josh Izod and
Jamie Price for getting recognition for their recent performances and as a result, have been selected to play for Cambridgeshire. As you can see from the video (
click here or on the thumbnail to view the video), considering he's only just turned 10, Josh has got a solid swing already.
He went on to win on his debut against a 14year old and has been selected again this weekend where his next victim will be in Derbyshire.
