Hello and welcome to this week's newsletter.
Captains Drive In
Last weekend saw the captains drive in take place at the club. Despite the snow to start off the day the sun came out to shine on Chris and Jaine for their first tee shots as Captains of the club.
As ever the captains were dressed up for the occasion, this time as Boycie and Marlene.
Those of you who bet on the occasion will realise that this was not the best get up's to play golf in.
They had to follow the junior's captain Richard Hall and Seniors captain Brandon Chapman who both sent them down the middle. Chris followed in his slicks and just about kept his balance and his dignity by nudging it past the ladies tee.
Jaine did well to make it to the tee in her outfit let alone hit the shot, but did manage to send it down the middle.
Best of luck to all the Captains for the upcoming year, I'm sure you will have lots of fun and represent the club well.
Many thanks to
Kieran and
Helen for the last year and to
John Stewart for the past two years as seniors captain.
Many thanks to
Simon Hawkins of Reeve Photography as always for his photography.

One of our young members'
Harvey Redfern has asked me to include in this week's mail a link to his survey to help him with his achademic studies.
This shouldn't take too long, so if you have a few minutes, I know and Harvey would be hugely grateful.
Click here to complete the survey.
Many thanks.
In the money Not that he needed it, but Rory McIlroy picked up a nice little end-of-season bonus with victory at the DP World Tour Championship. Eighteen-year-old Lydia Ko also hit the jackpot, netting a tidy $1m for her season's efforts on the LPGA Tour. Well done to the pair of them.
The prize funds we're used to may have a few less zeros on the end, but you can't beat the buzz of taking the money. Even if it's a pint and bag of crisps, we all love coming out on top; getting the better of our weekly fourball partners and rubbing it in in the clubhouse afterwards.
Now, we all know someone who never seems to win, and we've all gone through barren spells. We dare say you find yourself willing on that person when they can't buy a putt, it's what makes golf so special; taking pleasure in seeing someone else play well.
However, if you really are sick of handing over a fiver each week, now's the time to do something about it. Don't wait until the spring to find your game, come and speak to the team now and we can get you on the right track with a lesson. We might not be able to turn you into a millionaire, but we'll help cut down your bar bill resulting from those painful weekly defeats.
