Hello and welcome to this week's newsletter.
The season is fast approaching and many sections of the club have been fine tuning their games. This week saw the final part of the senior's winter lessons and the start of the ladies squad coaching.
The main theme this week was short game, the ladies did chipping with loft and the seniors were put through their paces on putting. After their strokes were analysed they were all given various skill tests to help them continue their development.

New season beckons for scratch team Saffron Walden Golf Club men's scratch team, supported by Ford Wells Construction Group start their pre-season with a friendly against a Cambridgeshire Area Golf union team at Windmill Hill this Sunday.
After leading the team to a number of scratch titles in Cambridgeshire,
Graham Goodman is captain again, in what promises to be an exciting time for the team. Newly promoted Gog Magog and St Neots join Brampton PK, Ramsey and Walden in Division 1.
Other friendlies have been organised against Gog Magog, Ely and St Ives before the season starts.
Captain Goodman said
"The successes of the past seasons are firmly behind us and we are all excited about the new season upon us. Teams evolve and this year we will be building a new team to challenge for honours. Some team members have started new careers so it is a great opportunity for the academy players to come to the fore. The likes of Callum Brookes, Louis Martin and Jacob Gamble have a great opportunity to show how good they can be. This coupled with the addition of some new players and the experience of players like Mark Reeve, Olly Tuck, Ryan Adair and Ian Macdonald, we have a great blend of experience and youth for the challenges ahead".
We're developing and improving our custom fit service for members and have introduced a SkyTrak launch monitor.
When trying out new products don't forget to be custom fitted which is a
FREE of charge service our Pro's offer to members.
SkyTrak will deliver instant feedback on
ball speed, launch angle, side spin, back spin, spin axis &
side angle. It can be used for teaching, club gapping, but most importantly making sure you try the equipment which is going to improve your game the most.
One of the most important reasons for custom fitting is club gapping…
- Do you find you hit your clubs very similar distances?
- Or have big gaps in between your wedges? Book a gapping lesson now with Rob, Aaron or Sarah for only
£25!

From your Lady Professional
Sarah Smith:
On
Tuesday, 15 March I am holding a test trial afternoon on the practice range. We are looking for a group of volunteers to try out our new range of ladies equipment, including Callaway, Yonex and Mizuno, and we would like you to analyse and review on the range with the use of our SkyTrak launch monitor.
Everyone's golf swing is different, so it makes sense to match clubs to your individual swing. We all want to hit the ball further and straighter so checking club head speed, launch angle and spin rates can maximise distance and increase consistency to improve your ball flight.
Click here to get in touch if you'd like to be part of this special group to meet between 12 and 2pm.
This is your time to be the judge!

Why Change Your Grips? ...Grips are made of materials that age and wear as a function of time. Heat, dirt, and oils from your hands all age your grips and cause the natural degradation of the grip. The traction that a fresh grip provides lets you hold the club lightly without the subconscious fear of losing the club during your swing. This relaxed state will improve the swing mechanics, therefore improving your game!
Top of the range Golf Pride grips start from
£7.50 for irons and putters including the grip fitting.
If you re-grip 9 or more of your clubs your will receive
10% OFF the total price!
