Walden back on track with a 4-2 win
SWGCG Golf club scratch team supported by Ford Wells group beat Ramsey 4-2 away last Tuesday to get their season back on track.
After being beaten last week, Olly Tuck and Mark Reeve bounced back with a convincing 2 up victory over Debenham -Scott and Hollands. In tough course conditions Walden used the strengths of Tuck's newly found powerful driving and Reeves imaginative wedge play to seal out the game with a birdie on the 16th to win 2up.
In the next game the new formidable pairing of Callum Brookes and Richard Southall won 5 up. Using Southall's leadership they slotted home 2 birdies on the par 5s and never looked back.
Against Ramsey's top pairing of Hodgkin and Cripps, Ian Macdonald and Ryan Adair lost 3 down.
Graham Goodman captain said;
"We really needed our top pairing to get back to winning ways and they did. Our second pairing produced again which means we are back on track amongst the leaders for our next game against St Neots at home in a couple of weeks".
In the other match Brampton Pk won 4-2 against Gog Magog.
