Hello and welcome to this week’s newsletter,

What a week’s weather we've had. Monday was ok but Tuesday and Wednesday were write offs. Finally the last two days have given us a bit of rest bite and hopefully the course will have dried out. I'm sure Ian will release the rainfall charts over the next few weeks in his newsletter but it certainly feels that the rain has come down more this winter than in previous years. Having said that I've just done a playing lesson in non-spike golf shoes and it was pretty dry out there.

I'm sure many of you who read Sarah’s tweets and Facebook page are aware that we've got into the Sunningdale Foursomes this year. We are playing the old course and have been drawn against Georgia Hall and her partner. Georgia was one of the stars of the last Solheim Cup so we are looking forward to getting our games in shape and competing against her.

Crimewatch!

I spent most of Wednesday afternoon with the police force giving statements, as did Fabian as they have issued a warrant out for an arrest and raided a property in Saffron Walden. Unfortunately Haverhill golf course was done not long after ours, by the same people, the police were able to examine our CCTV and knew the lad instantly and his car, which has now been confiscated.

Incredibly it was the car which was the giveaway, as soon as we told them that they had come in a white Audi and that Kelly noticed on the club CCTV that they were dropped off in a white Audi when they came to snoop round prior to breaking in the police knew whom it was. For how clean and professional the burglary was I still can't believe they did it in their own car, what were they thinking? But if you have to rob pro shops for a living then thinking might not be a strong point in the first place.

The hour will be supervised practice session ran by PGA Professional Sarah Smith, for those who want to improve their game over the winter. During the afternoon your will be at the range having a swing analysis with video technology, using all your clubs!

It’s a fun afternoon, meeting new people, improving your game and you will be refreshed on the skills of improving your golf game.
