Setting myself a challenge... Although I love my job as a Golf Professional, seeing clients improve their game and improving their handicap is definitely the best part. Similar to golf, sometimes you have to think about pushing yourself to your best achievements - this is one reason why, in just 23 days, I'm going to be taking part in the Great North Run! Since completing my level two disability course, I have been working alongside Paul from Battleback Golf. Paul is an ex-serviceman who, after losing his lower right leg, has taken up golf in the last few years to help with his recovery. His golf has come on no-end and he loves every minute of being on the course! With this in mind, we have decided that all the money sponsored for the Great North Run will go to the charity Blesma. I'll be running with my partner Chris, and who comes from an armed forces background, this was another great reason to choose this charity. Blesma are the a charity who are dedicated to assisting serving and ex-Service men and women who have suffered life-changing limbloss or the use of a limb, an eye or sight. Blesma provides a network where Members not only enjoy support from our professional Welfare Team, but where they have the opportunity to engage with others who have similar injuries and backgrounds to themselves, building an important fellowship with each other to overcome everyday battles. All the funds raised with be going specifically to Blesma’s Golf Team as golf is a great way of recovering both physically and mentally. Click here to visit my sponsor page.
