Welcome to this week's newsletter, this week has been a busy week for me doing Captain/Pro challenges. First, on Tuesday, was the turn of the ladies as Justine and myself took the section on. I'm pleased to say we played steady golf and came in with 38 points. We were beaten by one team, that of Caroline Peat and Jane Wagstaff who managed one point more. The following morning in slightly less inclement weather the new seniors Captain, Nick Rouse and myself took on the rest of the section. The weather was awful, raining for most of the round, but we amazed to get round under par and were again only beaten by one pair, that of Roger McNaught and a man clearly thriving on being relieved of his duties, out going seniors Captain Bill Sandford. Congratulations to both pairs and thanks to both Justine and Nick for the days as well as playing partners Angela Reed, Sue Amiss, Brandon Chapman and Charles Raikes. Also in pro news Aaron took part in the first Thetford tournament of the autumn and was leading for a lot of the afternoon with a very good score of 73. He was beaten in the end by Paul Maddy who shot 69, nevertheless a good start to the Alliance season. You will also see in the newsletter one of our members had the week of a life time last week at the British Masters. I've been keeping a close eye on what Spencer has been doing having first read about it in the paper and was made up for him once he qualified. As you will see from his report and pictures it looked an awesome week at Walton Heath.
