Hello Golfers,

Welcome to this week’s newsletter. You will see from the pictures of Florida that a group of our members had the right idea as the weather cools down on where to play their golf.

You may also recognise the Florida resident with them. Philip wanted to send a few words across to accompany the photographs but as his daughter was arriving to visit, he ran out of time. I did have a nice chat with him on Thursday night and he had had a great time and good catch up with the lads and spent plenty of time playing and socialising with them.

Club news

End of a Year, Start of a Year

Tonight’s AGM draws an end to Justine and Graham's year as Captain of the club and will usher in the Centenary Captains Dee and Tony. I'm sure Graham and Justine have had a great year with many memories, including a hole in one from Graham at East Herts, which was certainly one of the highlights of my year.

Now they can relax and get back to playing while Dee and Tony get on with the job. I'm sure you'll join me to say thanks to Justine and Graham and best wishes to Dee and Tony, especially for Sunday!

New balls, please

Sometimes we can overlook the small details. Take your golf ball for example; you might be getting by on picking any old ball from your bag, but have you ever wondered just how much of a difference a brand new golf ball will make to your overall performance?

Believe it or not...

Tour professionals change their ball every three to four holes - some even after every hole - so why would you want to use a golf ball that you found on the course sometime last year, that has been from tree to tree with the scuff marks and discolouration to prove it?

Here's the answer...
