Friday's FREE Swing Advice Are you using the right putter for your stroke? Did you know, if you rounded it up there are three different types of putting stroke? Everyone is different on how they take the putter back and through during the putting action - one reason why there are so many different putters to choose from. Three different strokes: From a big arc... (me!) Too little, & straight back - straight through. Choosing a putter isn’t all about how it looks, one reason why just ‘picking one off the shelf’ might not be a good move. A huge reason why golfers miss putts is that they haven’t got the correct putter for their stroke. To check this, find out what stroke you have (ask your Professional to look)...then hang your putter on your fingers and see which way it hangs. Correct Answers: Toe Hanging Lots- Golfers who have a very arc’d putting stroke. Toe Hanging- Golfers who have a little arc. Face Balance- Golfers who are straight back and through with their stroke. Think about this? If you had a toe hanging putter for a straight back and through stroke, the likeliness of you hitting it out the middle of the face is slim- this is how putts are missed on the edge of holes. The point where the putter reaches impact needs to be central every time, this is how you gain more control with your stroke and more putts are holed. Click here to book your putter lesson. |
