Hello and welcome to this week's newsletter.
Autumn/winter is definitely setting in as we had our first trolley and buggy ban this week! On that note the opening times for the shop will be changing from 8am-4pm in the week and 7.30am-4pm at weekends.
This week we had a Mizuno demo day at the club. The technician was fully booked and the feedback from him and the members was very good. They have one of their best ranges in many a year, and the kit they bring with them on these days is top of the range.

As many of you will know and indeed were there, this week was Gordon Wilby's funeral. There was a brilliant turn out which spoke volumes about the man. You don't often go to a 93 year olds funeral and there only be standing room at the back. I first met Gordon when I started down here in 2001, looking back on it I can't believe he must have been 80 at the time. He was a lovely man who no one ever had a bad word to say about, he was always very warm and generous, he loved his golf and the socialising and friends that came with it and will be greatly missed.
We made a presentation to Greta today at the Ladies Annual Meeting. She has been a member of SWGC for 75 years (yes 75 yrs). I thought it was definitely worth a mention.
The presentation, made by Helen, the 2015 Ladies Captain, was an engraved vase
19 players met yesterday for the November meeting which was held on a Thursday due to a late booking of a course shoot. Scoring was quite competitive at the top end with Wis and Chris Porter taking the honours and buying the drinks with 41 points. This seems quite careless on Chris' part as it represents back to back wins for him.
At the other end of the spectrum and propping up the field were deserved winners Hayden and Fordham with 32 points. I partnered Mike Price which concerned me as he is often on the podium, but after getting off to a good start we fell away on the back nine. So much so that we were concerned that with 38 points we may be in line for the dreaded PPPP but thankfully Fordham and Hayden spared our blushes.
