Those who played today will have noticed a bit more bunker renovation taking place on the 9th. This was given the green light last week for the new blinder to be put in and the bunker to be made narrower. The height will also be brought down as there has been a big build of sand over the years. This should make the shot fairer, especially in summer as it will be taken back to the way it was designed.

The bunkers on the second look massive improvement already, it only with the levels of sand but the new turf and riveting of the faces. This is a testament to Ian and his team that this has all been able to be done in house and the guys have been able to show off different skill sets to what we normally see on a day to day basis.

Alfred Dunhill and Pedersen's Hat-Trick

For most people, 2020 has been a tough year. For Emily Kristine Pedersen, it’s been one of golfing glory. The Dane stormed to her third Ladies European Tour victory in a row at the Spanish Open, winning the season-long Race to Costa del Sol as a result. Thrilling stuff!

The men’s European Tour headed out to South Africa for the Alfred Dunhill Championship, with home favourite Christiaan Bezuidenhout rallying on Sunday’s back-nine to claim the title. Bezuidenhout’s journey, overcoming the adversity caused by a childhood accident, is an incredible one and this is certainly a heart-warming victory.

Keeping calm on the course

Nerves

He may not look it, but Tiger will have been nervous in every one of his 82 PGA Tour wins. For a recreational golfer, remembering the bigger picture on that first tee – That a mistake on the course wouldn’t be the end of the world – can be very useful.

Frustration

Taking your mind away from the source of frustration, whether it’s hitting your ball out of bounds or missing a short putt, is key. That could be talking to a playing partner about something unrelated or simply focusing on your next shot.
