Thank You Firstly thanks to everyone who emailed me wishing to pass on their best wishes to my daughter Marcia after her pogo incident. Everything is on the mend and we had the joys of another trip to Addenbrookes this week for a check where they signed her off Thankfully the break was clean and straight so they were happy to let her go. Looks like Johnny has inherited a pogo stick so he’s happy too
On The Course Oddly enough it’s been pretty quiet at the club this week. That said the green staff are busy giving golf course some TLC and improvements. For those of you, and I know there’s many, who are not a fan of the ninth tee shot then your prayers have been answered. Ian and his team have taken pity on you, and the poor dog walkers on the other side of the Slade, by making the gap bigger. The trees have needed taking back for a while so they’ve made the most of the lockdown to get on with work like this. On Wednesday they also started the bunker lining on 6, 16 and 17. This is the same work that was carried out in the last lockdown to improve the consistency of the sand as well as reducing the sand walls that have built up over time. If the finished bunkers on the second and ninth are anything to go by they will make a real difference in playability as well as looking a lot better too. |
An Update From Me Hope you are all staying well throughout the lockdown, here’s what I’ve been up to so far! Last month I was invited to be part of a golfers social media group on Facebook. ‘The Ladies Golf Lounge’ come at good timing going into the National Lockdown as it gave me a chance to have a bit of time to make some coaching videos - for both you (and the group!) https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=im9Ex9_oezs Click on the link above to see my latest advice on improving your chipping, it’s a short video to watch but one you can try and practice at home even when you may not have much space.. I'm not going to give away too much before you watch, but I look forward to seeing your comments for the challenge set at the end too! Alongside trying to keep busy with the golfing background work I can do, next week I continue on with some new training for a new care company to me based in Saffron Walden which I’m looking forward to.

English top in Hawaii Tour golf is very much a way of life and an unforgiving one at that. As recently as 2019, Harris English was struggling to return to the PGA Tour, having lost his card and been demoted to the Korn Ferry Tour (this is the feeder tour to the PGA, much like the Challenge Tour in Europe). Now, English is a PGA Tour champion once again. The 31-year-old picked up his first victory since 2013 at the Sentry Tournament of Champions in Hawaii, having fought off Justin Thomas’ pursuit of a third title in five years at the event. What an achievement, and one for the sentimentalists. If you have any golf-related questions or enquiries, feel free to get in touch using the button below. |
