Past Slade Captain Moves Onto Even Greater Things!!
On May 3rd along with Rosie's son Jeremy Richardson, Ron attended the final day of the Champions Tour event held at The Woodlands Country Club, Houston, Texas. Jeremy works for United Health Care who are the main sponsors for this annual event and Ron & Jeremy were invited to be Honorary Observers which meant they were announced on the 1st tee and walked inside the ropes for the 18 holes with Russ Cochran, Bart Bryant & Duffy Waldorf.
It is a 3 day event and all 3 golfers were on 140 being 4 under par and 4 behind the leaders. With a little help from Ron & Jeremy with club selection, Russ shot a 3 under for his final round and Duffy 5 under finishing 9th & 6th respectively for the tournament
The tournament was eventually won by Ian Woosnam with 11 under after a 3 way play off against Kenny Perry & Tom Lehman.
Ron and Jeremy came away with a signed photograph and signed balls!!!
Another Slade member whose moved on to better things!
Not to be outdone by Ron, Philip Davies parked himself down by the 17th at Sawgrass last week to witness Rickie Fowler's superb final few holes.
He managed to stand behind all of Ricky's shots on 17 which he said was really amazing as the pin looked like it was positioned virtually in the water. No room to the right at all!!
