Equipment
Here’s a fact for you…
We have lots of different golf balls available in the pro shop, from plain white ones to bright colourful ones.
That's why can understand if you’re overwhelmed by choice when picking out which one to play with.
You’ll be forgiven if you don’t know much about golf balls and they all look very similar to you. But the truth is different brands have multiple ball products that all serve different purposes, each with a certain kind of golfer in mind.
Finding the right golf ball is all about what feels good for you, and what gives you the confidence to commit to your shot.
Today we want to outline three different ways you may want to go about buying new golf balls. Based on your ability, based on price, and based on colour and visual tech.
When we discuss ability, it’s hard not to get grouped into one of two camps:
Are you a good golfer or a bad golfer?
The fact is we all want to improve, so we’re giving two recommendations based on handicap to give you an understanding of which ball will be most appropriate to your game.
If you’re a single-figure handicap, you’ll want to get the most out of your equipment. Being a consistent ball-striker, you’ll want to play with a low spin golf ball to give you the most distance on your drives.
TaylorMade TP5 golf ball
This ball has a 5-layer construction, allowing you to get low spin on your drives and high spin on your wedge shots. This is a superb option for better players that allows for tons of workability and creative shot-making.
TaylorMade TP5x golf balls
If you’re a heavy hitter, the TP5x ball may be more your speed. This ball builds on the TP5’s construction to offer you faster ball speeds and higher launch, resulting in excellent distance down the fairway. It’s also been designed to make a softer, more pleasing sound when you strike the ball.
If you play with a handicap of over 10, don’t worry, we have just the ball to help you cut it down.
TaylorMade Tour Response golf balls
The Tour Response has an incredible design that offers both a long ball flight and super-soft feel around the greens. The aerodynamic dimple design will help you hit it further, and the urethane exterior makes the ball very pleasant to the touch.
As we all know, golf is an expensive sport, so you’ll really want to make sure you’re investing in the right golf balls for your bespoke game.
If you want to play with the best balls TaylorMade has to offer, the TP5 Pix balls are certainly worth the cost. These balls feature all the hardworking tech found in the standard model with the revolutionary Pix alignment aid on the exterior. This alignment aid is orange and black, and will give you a superb path to the hole when you line up your putts.
If you’re on the hunt for affordable, quality golf balls, TaylorMade’s Speed Soft will certainly meet your budget. Engineered with a soft-compression core, this ball offers an easy soft feel every time you make contact with the ball.
As we’ve hinted at in the previous section, you can get all kinds of golf balls nowadays, including those that have visual tech and alignment aid elements to help you perform better.
TaylorMade Tour Response Stripe golf balls
This is one of TaylorMade’s most iconic releases in recent memory. This ball breaks from the conventional pristine white aesthetic to include a colourful stripe that runs around the ball’s circumference. This feature gives you an ideal line of sight when preparing for your putts.
TaylorMade Speed Soft Ink golf balls
Offering a different perspective, the Speed Soft Ink golf ball features unique brush stripes that snake their way over the golf ball. We’ve never seen anything quite like this ball before, it’s bold, unique, and will add a lot of fun colour to your game!
